Educational program for students of secondary schools in the Krapina-zagorje county - Knowledge to save energy

Educational program for students of secondary schools in the Krapina-Zagorje County - Knowledge to save energy was a project implemented by the Krapina-Zagorje County in May and June of 2010, with the expert help of North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency.

Project goals:

• Education of students, teachers and parents regarding the importance, advantages and possibilities of sustainable building, the application of energy efficiency measures and energy savings in buildings ;
• Increasing awareness and public participation in Krapina-Zagorje County energy-efficiency and environment protection projects;
• Promotion and recognition of Krapina-Zagorje County as an energy-efficient county by setting an example for other counties in Croatia.

Activities within the project:

• Introducing teachers and principals with the project;
• Preparation of educational materials;
• Educational lectures for students and teachers in secondary schools;
• Excursion for students and teachers;
• Organization of secondary school competition in knowledge (quiz) of sustainable building and energy efficiency.
