Energy efficiency in final energy consumption programme for the City of Zagreb and Zagreb county
In accordance with the provisions of the Act on Efficient Use of Energy in the Final Energy Consumption, each county in the Republic of Croatia is obligated to develop Energy Efficiency in Final Energy Consumption Program. Energy Efficiency Program is a planning document for a period of three years, which, in accordance with the National Program and National Action Plan, defines policies to improve energy efficiency in final energy consumption in the county.
Energy Efficiency
Program for the City of Zagreb
is developed for the period 2010 - 2012. On 13th of July 2010
Program was adopted by the City of Zagreb
Assembly.
Project goals:
- Improving energy efficiency in the City of Zagreb;
- Definition of targets to improve energy efficiency in the City of Zagreb;
- Detailed classification of energy efficiency measures in each final energy consumption sector developed;
- Preparation of a detailed implementation plan for the three-year period developed;
- Monitoring and verification of energy savings;
- Contributing to sustainable development, due to reduced emissions greenhouse gas emissions.
Activities within the project:
- Review and assessment of final energy consumption for three county sectors - building, transport and public lightning sector;
- Forecast of energy demand by sector in the period from 2010 to 2012;
- Analyses of energy savings by sector till 2012;
- Identification of energy efficiency measures by sector in order to achieve defined goals;
- Defining implementation dynamics of identified energy efficiency measures;

of financial mechanisms for defined energy efficiency measures implementation.
Currently Energy Efficiency in Final Energy Consumption Program is being developed for the Zagreb County.
