Systematic Energy Management in Karlovac county-SEM
The project "Systematic energy management in Karlovac County - SEM" was implemented by the Karlovac County in the period from 26 September 2008 to 25 November 2009 within the INTERREG program - Adriatic New Neighborhood Programme, as a partnership with the Agenzia Regionale per I'Edilizia e il Territorio, Regione Abruzzo and with a professional assistance of North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency.
Project goals:
- Sharing of knowledge and experience among Adriatic regions in the field of energy efficiency in public buildings;
- Setting up a central monitoring system for energy consumption in public buildings;
- Reduction of energy and water consumption in public buildings by implementing the systematic energy management model;
- Increasing the awareness of final beneficiaries of the project: 3 570 employees in public institutions, 11 200 primary and secondary school students and 140 000 health care users in Karlovac County.
Activities within the project:
- Creating and updating the registry of public institution buildings;
- Collection and analysis of energy consumption data in 47 public institutions with 145 buildings;
- Detailed energy audits of 20 Karlovac County public institution buildings, followed by determination of energy efficiency measures;
- Investment studies for 20 Karlovac County public institution buildings;
- Study of renewable energy usage in public buildings;
- Strategy for Karlovac County sustainable energy utilization;
- Increasing the public awareness of energy efficiency and environment protection through workshops and presentations for the employees of Karlovac County public institutions;
- Organization of energy efficiency competition for the employees of Karlovac County public institutions;
- Organization of study tour to Italy for the best participants of the competition
