About us
The Agency's mission is the promotion and encouragement of regional sustainable development in the fields of energy and environmental protection through renewable energy sources (RES) utilization and energy efficiency measures implementation.
The Agency’s vision is the establishment of the network of energy and ecology rational towns and counties of North-west Croatia that will establish the structure for successful regional development based on sustainability principles as imperative of economy development of European regions of 21st century.
The main services provided by North-west Croatia Agency are the following:
- Information, advising and education regarding energy issues;
- Support for the realization of local and regional energy plans;
- Energy audits for public and private buildings;
- Public awareness activities in the fields of energy and environmental protection;
- Insurance of national and international financial mechanisms for projects and activities.

Dr Julije Domac - Managing Director
B.Sc., M.Sc and Ph. D. recieved at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.From 1997 to 2007 employed at the Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar as Deputy Head of Department for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. Mr.sc. Velimir Šegon – Deputy Managing Director
B.Sc. and M.Sc in power systems recieved at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. From 1997 to end of 2002 worked as a junior researcher at the Department of Power Systems of the Faculty, his work was related to safety analysis of nuclear power plants. From January 2003 to April 2008 worked as a senior researcher at the Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar in the implementation of various national and international projects related to the utilisation of renewable energy sources and specifically biomass. Mr.sc. Vesna Kolega – Head of Department of Development and International Projects
Obtained B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 1991 and 1998 respectively. Before joining North-west Croatia Energy Agency she used to work in Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar from its establishment in 1994. Ivan Pržulj, dipl.ing. – Head of Unit for Systematic Energyx Management
Finished secondary school in Zagreb in 2000. Graduated from the University of Zagreb with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in 2006. Also enrolled in and completed the business management curriculum at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. From 2007 to 2008 worked as a project coordinator in field of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning in the firm Totić.
Ivana Marić –Accounting Manager
Born in Zagreb at 1979 where she finished elementary and high school. After high school she was working at different domestic and foreign companies on working positions of business secretary and office manager At North West Regional Energy Agency working as Head of accounting unit.
Tijana Savić, oec.- Project Leader
Born in Velika Gorica where finished secondary school. Graduated in the field of Business Economy on Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb in 2005. After graduation, started work as administrator dealing with management and up-dating of data basis. From May 2006 until May 2008 used to work as brand manager. Sanda Djukic, dipl.ing. – Project Leader
Born in Zagreb, where also finished primary and secondary school. Graduated in the field of Electrical Power Engineering on Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb in 2005. After finishing studies, started carier in INA - Naftaplin dealing with electricity consumption optimisation and losses analasys. From 2008 employed at the North-west Croatia Energy Agency. Miljenko Jagarčec, ing.- Project Leader
Born in 1974 in Zagreb. Graduated 2001 on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Since 2000 untill april 2008 works in company Elcon d.d. on jobs ranging from Process engineer, Leader of Quality planning department, Quality manager and finally Technicall manager.
Since april 2008 works in company El-set d.o.o. as Executive manager.
M.A. Ivana Lončar– Project Leader
Obtained B. A. and M. A. degrees from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitiy of Zagreb. In 2009 graduated from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business, with a major in Macroeconomics. In 2011 finished Master of Strategic Entreperenuership. In the Agency performs tasks related to economic and financial analysis of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects and doing preparation for numerous national and international projects.
Karlo Rajić, dipl. ing – Project Leader
Graduated from the VI degree Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Zagreb in 2002. Also graduated from Polytechnic of Karlovac, college of mechanical engineering VII degree, course of energetics in 2010. From 2002 to 2005 worked as a manager of mechanization at complex construction sites in the company Hidroelektra niskogradnja d.d. From 2005 to 2008 worked as a quality manager and a production manager in the company Kontal d.o.o. From 2008 to 2009 worked as a manager of mechanization and transport at tunnel construction sites in the company Skladgradnja d.o.o.
Milka Šešok, dipl.ing. - Project Leader
Born in Zagreb in 1984 where finished primary and secondary school. Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in the field of Power Systems. Employed at the North - west Croatia Regional Energy Agency in 2011.
Ivana Horvat, dipl. ing. - Project Leader
Born in Lobor, where also finished primary and secondary school. Graduated in the field of Electrical Power Engineering on Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 2010. Aftergraduation, started work in UNDP as assistent for registry establishment and technical support onHouse in order project.In the Agency participates in Developing and International Projects, such as Sustainable Energy Action Plans of cities.
Mihaela Mehadžić, dipl. oec. - Expert Associate
Born in 1986 in Derventa. Graduated in the field of Finance on Falculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. Until September 2011. worked in the research agency GFK.In the Agency participates in Developing and International Projects, such as Sustainable Energy ActionPlans of cities.
Marko Miletić, dipl. ing. - Expert Associate
Born in Zagreb in 1985. Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in the field of Power Systems. Employed at the North - west Croatia Regional Energy Agency in 2011.
Tina Opalić, dipl. oec. - Expert Associate
Born in 1982 in Zagreb. Holds a master degree in International trade from University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Busines. Her interest in renewable energy resources and sustainable development derives from participating in academic seminars in this field at Supélec, Paris and ENSAM,Bordeaux. Her work in Agency is related to international projects and finance.
Dina Studen, bachelor of political science - Office manager
Born in 1983 in Zagreb. Graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Zagreb in 2009, the study of Political Science, Course of International policies, diplomacy and national security. During and after the study has worked in several domestic and foreign companies on positions such as marketing, administrative and business secretarial jobs. In the Agency organizes office operations, takes, records and transmits telephone calls, as well as receiving, distributing, archiving mail and business documents, keeps records and organizes meetings of the Agency Management Board.
